Quickbase uses a partner named Billing Platform to provide some billing related information and functionality for the Quickbase platform. Billing Platform will be executing planned maintenance to update their platform. During this maintenance, customers using either the US or EU instance of the Quickbase platform will be unable to use the "Manage Billing" button on the Admin Console page. This includes the ability to pay an invoice.

There is a major outage presently reported by our hosting provider for Pipelines. We are in contact with the hosting provider trying to determine when the problem will be resolved.

We regularly apply security updates to all the software used by the Quickbase platform. Between 9:45 AM and 10:00 AM Eastern US Time on May 29, we deployed updates to two software services that compose the Automations functionality used by some customers. In addition to security updates, the deployment included a configuration change designed to improve the performance of the underlying computers supporting Automations. An error in the configuration, that was not caught during our configuration review process, resulted in degraded performance. We corrected the configuration issue and redeployed the two services used by Automations. The redeployments completed by 11:30 AM Eastern US Time. We are considering what changes can be made in our review process to catch the specific type of misconfiguration that occurred in this case.

In order to ensure the availability of the EU instance of the Quickbase platform, Quickbase hosts the platform in two geographically diverse locations; Germany and Ireland. Quickbase EU can run actively in only one location at a time with the other location running in standby mode. We periodically need to switch between the two locations as part of our normal disaster recovery plan validation process. Switching between locations allows us to ensure that Quickbase’s disaster recovery plan is tested and working properly should there ever be a real disaster. You can read more about how we ensure the availability of Quickbase EU in our Trust Center.
Since its inception in 2021, Quickbase EU has been active in the Germany location. On Friday, May 16, 2025, between 7:10 PM and 10:00 PM Eastern US Time, we plan to switch Quickbase EU to be active in the Ireland location. We plan to continue to run the active location in Ireland for several months. Quickbase EU customers should expect to see us switch regions 2-3 times per year going forward. Each location switch will be communicated on the service page ahead of time. The Quickbase EU platform instances in both locations are always identical so there will be no change in Quickbase function or performance.
There is nothing customers need to do aside from maintaining awareness of the planned down time associated with the location switch.

In order to ensure the availability of the US instance of the Quickbase platform, Quickbase hosts the platform in two geographically diverse locations; Ohio (USA) and Oregon (USA). Quickbase US can run actively in only one location at a time with the other location running in standby mode. We periodically need to switch between the two locations as part of our normal disaster recovery plan validation process. Switching between locations allows us to ensure that Quickbase’s disaster recovery plan is tested and working properly should there ever be a real disaster. Since July 1, 2024, Quickbase US has been active in our Ohio location. On Saturday, May 3, 2025, between 12:10 AM and 2:00 AM Eastern US Time, we plan to switch Quickbase US to be active in our Oregon location. We plan to continue to run the active instance in Oregon for several months. The Quickbase US platform instances in both locations are always identical so there will be no change in Quickbase function or performance.
There is nothing customers need to do aside from maintaining awareness of the planned down time associated with the location switch.

In our April release, we started tracking all scalar (data-entry) fields in Audit Logs. We've temporarily disabled this functionality in both Quickbase US and Quickbase EU due to our internal monitoring showing potential reliability issues in applications with extremely high traffic (millions of daily events). Audit Logs will revert to their functionality before our April release, only logging fields you've selected. We're currently evaluating improvements and will provide an update when this will be re-enabled.
We are currently investigating intermittent errors that may affect data loading in Platform Analytics for some customers.
The vendor found the source of the problem and is implementing a fix. There is no estimate yet on when the fix will be completed. We will post another update as soon as we get a confirmation of deployment completion from the vendor. Functionality may have returned for some customers.

A fix was then included, but to mitigate the change, Development advised going through a procedure that results in re-processing the messages by the new version of one of our services to ensure nothing was missing. During that procedure, pipelines processing was slowed due to queueing and new execution was slowed via scaling down the Priority Service. This affected only a small set of pipelines traffic, specifically those going through Quick Triggering flow, which is about 28% of the total number of pipelines running. After reprocessing was complete, all execution returned to normal levels.

First, we realize we are an important part of your business and you expect Quickbase to be available and performing well when you need it. We apologize for the disruption this incident caused our customers.
On Saturday, March 22, starting at 8:15 AM, Quickbase was conducting planned maintenance on the software components that are part of the Quickbase load balancer (QLB) supporting the Quickbase US platform. The maintenance included updates to the software and a restart of each component. Quickbase routinely updates all the software components of the platform and these updates typically have little to no impact on customers actively using the platform. The QLB maintenance was expected to complete at 9:15 AM.
Towards the end of the maintenance, an unexpected problem developed. Between 9:11 AM and 9:14 AM, the majority of Quickbase US customer requests returned an error, HTTP 503, with text similar to "Your Quickbase app is temporarily unavailable" or "Quickbase is temporarily unavailable due to technical difficulties."
We detected this situation immediately, and at about 9:14 AM, we put the Quickbase US platform behind a maintenance page thereby intentionally blocking customer access. The message customers saw was:

Quickbase is currently unavailable. We are working to have services back up as soon as possible. For more information, please see the Quickbase service page.
We investigated and fixed the problem, and re-opened access to Quickbase US at 9:40 AM. Between 9:40 AM and 9:56 AM, customers may have experienced slower than normal response times while the platform warmed up. This is normal and expected after a cold restart of the platform. By 9:56 AM, Quickbase US performance had returned to normal and the incident ended.
The root cause of this incident was a defect in one of the QLB software components. The defect was exposed due to a combination of the volume of traffic, and diversity of traffic in the Quickbase US platform. We did not discover the defect in our prior testing of QLB, nor did it materialize in the Quickbase EU platform.
In order to resolve this incident in the short term, while Quickbase US was behind the maintenance page, we rolled back the applicable QLB software component to the prior, known good, version. We are working on a fix for the bug, and considering different ways we can better recreate the traffic pattern that exposed the bug, in our testing environment.
